These are images of the dust collectors on what looks to be the same sander, [http://www.grizzly.com/products/Combination-Sander-6-x-48-Belt-9-Disc-Z-Series/G1014Z available from Grizzly]. I think these designs would be very easy to knock off, and should work fairly well. I would probably extend the belt sander collector to get a bit closer to the belt, to concentrate the airflow a bit more.
